One's palate

by Richard L » Fri Apr 30, 2021 12:30 am

I think my palate is pretty good for the types of wine I drink, but probably less good for food. However, many years ago in Chagny (I think) my wife and I ate lunch (poached salmon for my main course, with a delicious sauce) with 2 friends then living in Geneva. The restaurant was called "Maison Lameloise" I think, and at the time it had 2 stars in the Guide Michelin. After the whole meal I said "I think this place should have 3 stars." 2 or 3 days later it did have 3 stars, pure coincidence of course. My late brother-in-law had a great palate for food, as well as wine. Richard L
