Tonight, I made the cranberry sauce. In a day or two, the eggnog.

It is... that... time of year.

So far, several folks, including family members are not doing Thanksgiving. Our daughter said all her kids come with grandkids, eat and go home and leave her with the mess. This year she said she is not doing it. Some people are going on a respite and taking a few days away from home to relax. Me, I am cooking for two of us and making a nice mini Thanksgiving using Cornish Hens. Things may change as we never know what may come up or who may come up. We go with the flow...

The owner of the restaurant where I play the piano is taking us (et al) to Ruth's Christy for Thanksgiving dinner.

We had such a great Thanksgiving dinner with the Spohns and the Coopers in the OK Valley two weeks ago that I no longer feel the need to have a turkey dinner, even if all I did was make an appetizer and the mashed potatoes. I'm sure that before the end of the month rolls around I'll come to my senses, though.

I swore that I wasn't going to do another Thanksgiving here. It's too much work for one person to host 25 to 30 people. The trouble is, I like having people over and cooking for them. So, I decided to have just 6 this year. Maybe I'll do it again next year with a different 6. We'll see.

Turkey ordered. Check.
Menu planned. Check.
Shopping to start (as soon as the nor'easter subsides).
Wines to be drank.
