I really like wild rice salads, but for whatever reason, I never think of making them. As indicated in the article, they make for good contributions to potluck dinners and such. This article's a good reminder.

I like wild rice but for some reason it's never been on my cooking radar screen.

I love wild rice salads. Especially with kale, walnuts and a seriously lemony dressing.

While in MN. I made a connection with a Native American who was head of the local wild rice council. I got a supply of authentic wild rice that was hand harvested and looked like grass seed (a pale tan color), not the hybridized black wild rice grown in CA and elsewhere.

Good on you, Larry. I like wild rice a lot and occasionally plunk for the real stuff from these folks: https://wineforest.com/collections/wine-forest-wild-sides/products/wine-forest-true-wild-rice-mix

I have a wild rice mix, which I love, wild rice with a good white rice—I had a great salad for lunches a while back.

In The Way to Cook Julia Child draws a distinction between "wild wild rice" and the cultivated kind.
