Time Out Markets

by Jenise » Tue Jun 23, 2026 5:47 pm

One of these just opened in Vancouver. A friend went and while impressed with the overall breadth of what was on offer, including cocktails and wine, it was noisy and crowded and a food court after all, however upscale, and not exactly the kind of place she'd go to for either.

But wow they're all over the planet. NY, Boston, Prague, Riyadh...EVERYWHERE. Anyone been?
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov

I've been to the Lisbon one. Crowded, loud, but good quality stuff. Generally I'd say avoid peak hours, or look at some of the perimeter spots which are less packed than the center of the giant hall.

Redding revitalized the downtown area over the past few years, and we have a place like that. Lots of stores inside one huge area. At restaurants, you can buy wine and cocktails and walk around looking at all the good food, treasures, etc. People love it. I do not like crowds, so I have not been. I am happy in my backyard looking at the mountains, trees, birds, squirrels, flowers, and peace. Oh, and the pool that, thanks to my pool guy, always looks beautiful. Ours is called Redding Public Market.
