RCP: Indian Summer Drink (Saffron Milk)

by Robert J. » Mon Jun 25, 2007 4:49 pm

Here is the Saffron Milk. I love this stuff.

1/2 tsp Saffron threads

2 Tbsp. warm Milk

1/3 cup raw Pistachio nuts

Seeds from 6 cardamom pods

1/4 cup (or less) sugar

5 cups cold Milk

Crushed Ice

1. Put saffron and warm milk in a bowl to soak for 15 minutes or so.

2. Put all the above ingredients except milk in a blender and process until smooth

3. Add milk and ice and process until frothy.

Serve and enjoy!!

Sounds delicious Robert...TFS! I will definitely make this, I think it will be a great alternative to iced coffee.

I was going to reply "Lassi come home", but Stuart beat me to it.

I thought lassi = yogurt as the diary. I've only made it with yogurt - never thought of milk substitute. Love both sweet and salli lassi.
