Muir Glen tomatoes are good, and they're widely available here. They're more expensive than Red Gold, though, and in side-by-side tasting I find better tomato flavor with Red Gold, so it's an easy choice for me.

Ah, but I picked up a bunch at a dollar store: 2/$1. I couldn't pass them up at 1/3 of the price.

Couple others I've been buying recently:

Coffee beans -- we grind them as they are used and purchase seven ounce containers from Cafe La Semeuse.

Tea, especially the loose leaves. Not sure why tea bags aren't packed that way.

Our anchovies are in a jar, not in a can, and I keep them in the fridge.
Off the top of my head, the pantry has canned beans; canillini, black beans, and red kidneys and garbanzos. Some small cans of button mushrooms A dozen cans of Genova tuna I picked up on Arthur Ave last month. Canned plum tomatoes, one can of paste, and some Del Monte sauce. Plenty of fancy feast cat food.
Cindy has half a dozen cans of various soups, which I never go near. She finds comfort in them when she doesn't feel well. Whatever.

Let's see...I never know half the time what I have in my pantry...LOL!

-Tuna
-Salmon
-Chopped Clams
-Sardines in Tomato sauce
-Garbonzo Beans
-Lentils
-Black Beans
-Heinz Vegetarian Baked Beans (Yes...the UK version...just like Peter's pic, they now carry it at my local grocery store!)
-Various soups (chicken noodle, tomato, Chunky soups [for my hubby when I can't cook...lol]cream of celery, veggie beef)
Canned tomatoes of all kinds (crushed, pureed, sauce, chopped, whole, paste)
-Coconut milk
-Olives
-Pineapples
-Mandarin Oranges
-Fruit Cocktail (Sheesh...I wonder how old this is?)
-Condensed milk

I think that's it for canned goods.

Canned tripe? And what's gabuzell?

Bob--a little like black eyed peas? That's what the picture on the can looks like, garbanzo shaped, black eyed pea color. But it's not a very good picture. Do you think they'd make a good bean salsa, the way black eyed peas do?

Amazing coincidence: Before logging in and seeing this thread, I'd prepared a posting giving an unusually successful use for canned Brazilian beef.

See under title "Meats in wine-rosemary juices," Here.

Tuna.
That's it right now. I don't eat it often so the same 10 cans from Trader Joe's have been sitting there a while.

At other times: condensed milk, Yeo's Singapore Curry Gravy, tomato paste.

cheers,
