Medium yellow. Effusive nose, unmistakably chardonnay. Agreed! And some white Crozes Hermitages I've had. Very quirky on a white burg, without it being a quirky wine at all.

You're right to call me out on that. I said it badly, but what I meant was that no way would you mistake this for a California or other new world chardonnay. It may be the Raquel Welch of white Burgundies, but it's too layered and complex to be anything but white Burgundy.
