WTN: Barthod

Ghislaine Barthod 2001 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Fuées. One of two bottles purchased on release, the other's long gone, and, as I recall, was disappointingly inexpressive. Did we pick the right time? We did. Pure, silken red fruit, intense yet delicate, with a half-pretty, half-earthy aromatic aura radiating outward from a deep core of minerality. Not showy, not yuge, but moderately scaled and totally satisfying.

The mistake is (like my Boillot error earlier in the week due to the sleep challenges of trans-Atlantic business travel.
